Your voice never becomes a network request
Dictamio is built on SpeechAnalyzer, Apple's speech-recognition engine that runs entirely on Apple Silicon. Recognition happens in a process on your Mac — there is no server for your audio to reach, because Dictamio doesn't send it anywhere.

Which Macs will Dictamio run on?
Apple Silicon Macs (M-series) running macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later. Intel Macs and earlier macOS versions aren't supported — Dictamio depends on Apple's on-device speech engine, which requires Apple Silicon.
Which languages are supported?
English, German, Japanese, Spanish, and French are first-class at launch, with correct native script, accents, and automatic punctuation in each. More languages may be added after launch.
Does it work offline?
Yes, fully and always. Dictamio processes speech entirely on your Mac, so it works with no internet connection at all — on a plane, on a train, anywhere.
How is this different from macOS's built-in Dictation?
Dictamio adds a single system-wide hotkey that works the same way in every app, remembers which language each app should use (so Mail can stay German while Slack stays English), and offers optional on-device polish modes — removing filler words, formal tone, or formatting as an email — plus more consistent automatic punctuation. It's built on the same on-device Apple speech technology, just wrapped for a faster, more configurable workflow.
Is my audio ever stored or uploaded anywhere?
No — never. Audio is processed on-device, in the moment, and isn't uploaded to any server or stored by Dictamio. There is no cloud component to your voice data at all.
